SUMMER 2025 JUNIOR GOLF CAMPS, LESSONS & CLINICS

Golf Camp Brochure 2025

Our clinics will be held Tuesday to Thursday, 9 am to 2 pm (with lunch included) OR  9 am to 12 pm (without lunch)

Each session is limited based on a maximum of 10 students per instructor.  Up to 3 instructors will be leading each session

Junior Golf Clinic Dates for Summer 2025, Tuesday through Friday, starting at 9 am:

• Session 1: July 1st to July 3rd
• Session 2: July 8th to July 11th
• Session 3: July 15th to July 18th  
• Session 4: July 22nd to July 25th 
• Session 5: July 29th to August 1st
• Session 6: August 5th to August 8th
• Session 7: August 12th to August 15th
• Session 8: August 19th to August 22nd
• Session 9: August 26th to August 29th

For Girls or Boys, Ages 7 to 14:

The focus of our junior golf lesson program will be teaching basic techniques. Golf rules and etiquette will also be incorporated throughout.  Clinic participants will spend time on the range as well as on the golf course refining their skills while supervised by an excellent and dedicated group of instructors: Skip Marini (Yorktown HS Golf Coach), Jayla Masci and Jenna Masci (both golfers at Adelphi University).  These techniques will help improve their games as well as behavior on and off the gulf course.  Practice stations will be set up throughout the day to include: 1) swing mechanics, 2) grip, stance and ball striking, 3) driving, chipping and driving, and 4) on course management.   The instruction will be personal.

Frequently Asked Questions:

• Is this clinic open to beginners? Yes! We welcome all juniors at various levels.  We'll tailor the instruction based on individual need and have small groups arranged by their skill level.  With a limited number of students per session, we'll be able to closely observe each student's development and progression.  Our goal is to have every student/camper create and enhance their love of the sport!
• Will golf clubs be provided?  We encourage any student who has their own clubs to bring them.  We do have junior club loaner sets available for our campers.
• What is the attire for the camps?  Children should be dressed in proper golf attire - collared shirts for boys with khaki-type shorts (please no t-shirts/gym shorts).  Sneakers are perfectly fine but no open toed shoes or sandals.
• Does my child need other equipment/accessories? It's important that you purchase a golf glove for your child prior to the start of camp. If your child is a right-handed player, you would need a glove for the left hand. If he/she is a lefty, then you would need a glove for the right hand. You can purchase them at any sporting goods store, e.g. Dicks or the PGA Store. We also have junior gloves available at the Pro Shop for $12. Your child will hit a lot of golf balls and the gloves will protect them from possible blisters.
• Can my son/daughter be paired with a friend?  Depending on their skill level and interest, it's highly likely they will be together for most of the exercises and instruction.  More emphasis will be placed on instruction and pairings for that session will depend on the areas of focus.
• What are the drop off & pickup times?  Please plan to have your child dropped off before 9 am and picked up at 12 pm (for the 9 am to 12 pm session) or picked up at 2 pm (for the full session).  Pick up is in front of the clubhouse.  Parents can wait in front of the clubhouse and your child will be escorted to you.
• What if there is inclement weather?  We will send out a group text if there is inclement weather.  It is unlikely that we will cancel a session but if we do, you'll have an option to make up the day in any future session during the Summer (subject to availability).
• Do you offer sibling discounts?  Yes!  If you register your children for the same session, we offer a $100 discount for your second child for the full day session and a $25 discount for the half day session.  Both children must attend the same session for the same week.
• What if my plans change?  No worries!  Depending on availability, we can easily change your registration to the week that meets your schedule.  If that's not an option and you need to cancel, we'll gladly refund your registration.  There will be a $25 credit card processing fee deducted from the refund.
• Other topics and questions.  Please let us know if your child as any allergies that we should be aware of.   A FAQ and waiver form will be sent out prior to the start of the Clinics.

Adult Beginner Golf Clinics - Spring 2025

The Adult Beginner Golf Clinics at Somers National Golf Club is open to both men and ladies and geared towards novice and beginner golfers. It is a great way to introduce a spouse or friend to the game of golf. Golf is learned in a relaxed and encouraging environment over a 4-week span. Participants gain an understanding of the different aspects of the game, etiquette, and rules with a goal of getting you comfortable with the game of golf and getting you on the gulf course playing. You’ll get the fundamentals in place while you learn and practice the most basic aspects of golf, such as grip, aim, stance and posture. Each Clinic will be typically geared toward a specific part of the game, such as driving, iron shots, chipping or putting.

No equipment is required, other than comfortable clothes and sneakers. Somers National provides the clubs and balls. Clinics may be canceled due to low enrollment at the Club’s discretion.
